Powder Creek Ranch consists of 362 acres in the Oregon coast mountain range of Tillamook County. It was purchased from the original homestead family in 1974 by my great grandparents, Hillard and Bernie, who primarily used it as a weekend retreat. In 1983 their daughter, Beverly, moved to the property and shortly after bought some calves. By 1986 Beverly and her daughter, Brenda, were operating a grade A dairy milking 65 head of Holstein cattle; the dairy operated until 1995 when Beverly reluctantly decided to retire and sell her beloved cows. Having grown up with animals my entire life I always wanted a career involving them but raising pigs wasn't quite what I had imagined. In February 2015 after raising a couple sets of butcher pigs I (Hillary) bought my first registered Tamworth gilt. Little did I know how much I would grow to love pigs and be so involved in raising them. I now raise mostly pastured pigs but a few head of cattle still graze the pastures, along with laying hens and meat chickens.
In 2017 we started a campground located along one of the prettiest areas of Powder Creek. We have several campsites for tents and a few sites accessible to RVs. The campground is very primitive, there is no electricity or hookups so be prepared to unwind and enjoy Mother Nature.
